I'm back from the post office and my fabric for January has all been mailed.
Here's a sneak peek of the fabric included in the packages:
And, here's my inspiration quilt:
I saw this quilt in the Japanese book, Machine Made Patchwork (457911020X), a few years ago and have always wanted to make a scrappy patchwork quilt like this.
So, I've included lots of fabric strips and scraps for you to play with. For the center of the block, I included a 2.5" square solid pink piece of fabric. Please start with the pink and then build from there...you can mix and match your scraps with mine or you can use only the scraps that I included. The blocks should be 12" square, plain log cabins.
I included two pink center squares...if you're feeling inspired and want to make two scrappy blocks, I wouldn't mind at all. :)
I'm so excited to be a part of this group and can't wait to see what you all create!

ReplyDeleteOoh la la! I can't wait to play!
ReplyDeletei can't wait to get the package... i'd never pick those colors.. but i really like them together... so this should be fun!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to get your package! Scrappy log cabins are my favorite (and probably what I'll have you all doing come November!) Thanks again for letting me come and play!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I hope you aren't too offended by some of my scraps :)
ReplyDeleteThe blocks should be 12" finished, so that they're 11.5" when sewn together, but bigger is fine to as I can always trim them down.
Yay!! Your quilt is going to be a beauty for sure Rebekah!
ReplyDeleteHi Rebekah, I was wondering if using some of my linen solids would be acceptable, or if you would prefer more of a kona cotton if I use some of my scraps?
