I didn't want to do it.
The block.
Then when I did,
I didn't want to sew it down by machine.
Especially with white thread.
(I didn't even HAVE white thread)
And then?
I fell in love with it.
It's a great block.
And I, for one, can't wait to see all the blocks together
in a quilt top!!!
Again, here I go down this same path - now, I want to make my own
big old bloomin' blocks!!
Thanks Penny for broadening my horizons.
natalie.
it turned out GREAT Natalie! Thanks for perservering even though you didn't want to (and for getting some white thread to finish it off!) I'll always remember your emails: #1: "just makin' sure, you don't want me to handstitch these?"
ReplyDelete#2: "are you SURE you don't want me to handstitch it?, it's really not a problem"
#3: "ok, you're kidding right? machine stitched AND with white thread? Oh geez."
Ok, so maybe that's not exactly what you said, but kinda close :) Anyway, it cracked me up!
Love the dots by your petal, nice touch! And the hot doggie print is too cute :)
ReplyDeleteWow - I love your flower! I agree, the dots are awesome. It looks very happy indeed.
ReplyDelete...glad I'm crackin' you up...
ReplyDeleteI think that might be EXACTLY the way I said it...sorry...
(bull in a china shop - my cousin calls me 'autofocus' - what a nickname)
Regardless, it's a GREAT block! Thank you for helping me 'get over it'.
Hehehe Oh Natalie you're hilarious! And I feel the same way about the block... I have to sit down and work on it this weekend and I'm a little terrified.
ReplyDeleteI, for one, think that doing things that terrify us,
ReplyDeleteis a good thing.
...every once in a while, that is.
adorable! I love all of the oranges you included.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I just need to pin my pieces down and sew...Today!
